This year at ISTE we had six excellent teacher presenters who created lesson plans integrating yolink as well as our partners. We also handed out a new search curriculum from Creative Commons. Karen Blumberg Karen Blumberg has been teaching (mostly in Manhattan independent schools) for 14 years. She is in her fourth year as the Middle School Technology Integrator at The School at Columbia University, a unique K-8 school that serves the Harlem community and the Columbia faculty equally. Previously, Karen was the Middle School Technology Coordinator at Sacred Heart 91st Street, and a math teacher at The Dalton School and for The School District of Philadelphia. She is a member of ISTE, NCTM, NAIS, NYCIST, CSTA, and other professional organizations. Karen earned a BA in Math and an MA in Instructional Technology and New Media. Karen is proud to finally own real estate, and though www.karenblumberg.com only exists virtually, she uses the site to document some of her recent technology integration experiences. Sue Miller Sue Miller began her career as a Music Therapist and Music educator over twenty years ago. She taught in the North Carolina and Connecticut public schools as a special educator in the primary grades. For the past seven years she has been teaching 5th grade at the West Tisbury School on Martha's Vineyard. She is currently working on incorporating music, theatre, and technology into her classroom. Mark E. Moran Prior to Dulcinea Media, Mark spent 9 years as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of 24/7 Real Media. He led the company through dramatic global expansion and revenue growth, completing 14 acquisitions in two years. From 2000 to 2003, Mark steered 24/7 Real Media through turbulent economic conditions, enabling it to be one of the few online advertising companies to survive. The company regained its leadership in online advertising, and was acquired for $650 million by WPP Group in July 2007. Prior to 24/7 Real Media, Mark uses an associate Attorney at Proskauer Rose LLP a Financial Analyst at the Bank of New York. Mark has a law degree from Fordham Law School, an M.B.A. in Finance from Fordham Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia. Ken Shelton Ken Shelton currently holds a MA in Education, with a specialization in New Media Design and Production. He has worked as an educator for eight years and currently teaches technology at the Middle School level. He has earned teaching credentials in both Social Studies and Technology Education. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is a Google Certified Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Discovery STAR Educator, and serves on the board for the Computer Using Educators Los Angeles affiliate (CUELA). Ken regularly gives presentations and conducts workshops, many of which are hands on, covering a wide variety of educational technology, technology integration, creative expression, and instructional design topics. Lisa Thumann Formerly a K-6 technology teacher, Lisa Thumann has been with the Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education at Rutgers University since 2002. As the Center's Senior Specialist in Educational Technology, Lisa facilitates professional development sessions on campus as well as travels throughout New Jersey going into districts helping teachers integrate technology into their classrooms. Her focus for the Center is her 21st Century Learning Initiative and helping teachers to develop and participate in their personal learning networks. Lisa also presents at State and National conferences such as Alan November's Building Learning Communities, the NJ Association for Educational Technology's and NJ Educational Computing Cooperative's annual conferences and the Google Teacher Academies. Lisa was the Keynote speaker this past year for both the NJEA Technology Institutes as well at the NJ Educational Technology Institute.
